It has been brought to our attention that there is an error in our paper1 on French colorectal cancer screening pilot programme: results of the first round.

In several places in this paper, ademona and cancer detection rates, which were calculated per 1000, were presented erroneously as percentages (%) rather than {per thousand}.

The correction, replacing the symbol % with a {per thousand} should be made in the following places:

P 143 (Abstract: Results) 2.3{per thousand}, 3.4{per thousand} and 1.4{per thousand}

P 146 (Results, column one, paragraph beginning ‘Results were available...’ from line 13) 7.2{per thousand}, 4.2{per thousand}, 10.9{per thousand}, 2.3{per thousand}, 2.4{per thousand}, 1.4{per thousand}, 3.4{per thousand}, 4.8{per thousand}, 10.4{per thousand}, 0.8{per thousand}, and 4.3{per thousand}

P 146 (Table 3, headings columns 6 and 8) Adenoma rate per 1000 screened people ({per thousand}), and Cancer detected rate per 1000 screened people ({per thousand}).

P 147 (column 1, in the last 12 lines) 2.8{per thousand}, 2.1{per thousand}, 1.63{per thousand}, and 1.7{per thousand}

P 147 (column 1 last paragraph) 7.2{per thousand}, 6.9{per thousand}, 9.2{per thousand}, 6.7{per thousand}, and 11.6{per thousand}

P 147 (column 2 line 1) 11.4{per thousand} and 16.8{per thousand}
